The Proposal (2009)

Watch Trailer

Any Sandra Bullock fanatic will completely love this film. This is classic Sandra Bullock! She is the reigning queen of romantic comedy. There will be no others, period. For Sandra, this particular film was a cake walk, and she will have you screaming for a lot more. It is a love story in regards to a hopeless love in between a couple who do not love each other, but are forced to be together. Bullock will probably be deported if she does not get married within the next 7 days, so she forces her assistant (Reynolds) to fake a wedding.

General, the jokes are funny however, not dirty, and the storyline is totally predictable but warm and touchy. If you’re searching for something that isn’t too heavy, somehow humorous and also romantic, this film is more than satisfactory. No Oscar-winner, by any means. But Bullock and Reynolds perform off each other so nicely in this that they’re worth the watch. And besides, there are even worse ways to spend time than by not watching this interesting romantic comedy.

Practical Magic (1998)

Watch Trailer

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman perform a very natural and effortless job in portraying 2 sisters who’re trying to put things correct in their life. Young gorgeous ladies with problems. Love internal struggles etc. One sis that is afraid to fall in love – another sister drops deeply in love with the wrong person. Many people have said the film was boring or slow. I would argue that these individuals are unable to see the deeper meanings and layers to the movie.

The film is never too serious and Sandra and Nicole shine in their roles, each giving a touching and comedic overall performance. They are a charming match, clearly lots of effort was involved and they perform off of each other as if they were real siblings. This film is for any person who wants to have a little magic in their lives. I recommend it.

Two Weeks Notice (2002)

Watch Trailer

This isn’t your standard romantic comedy. George Wade (Hugh Grant) plays a millionaire playboy tycoon who is aim in life would be to build as much buildings as he can while sleeping together with his female lawyers. Lucy Kelson (Sandra Bullock) performs a smart Harvard educated attorney fighting against corporate greed.

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock have great on screen chemistry. Sandra Bullocks amazing portrayal of a very informed determined and focused attorney combined with her obsessive diet plan could keep you having a laugh throughout the movie. Scenes of Chinese take out and rush hour bathroom break alone are worth watching even if you ignore the rest of the film.

Infamous (2006)

Watch Trailer

Strongly recommended, but if you deside to see both Capote and Infamous, view Capote 1st, then Infamous, if you see Toby Jones Capote first, it’ll ruin Hoffman’s overall performance believe me. Sandra Bullock’s portrayal of Capote’s close friend and author of `To Kill a Mockingbird’, Tess Harper Lee is really amazing, particularly when you compare it to so many of her other roles.

28 Days (2000)

Watch Trailer

Sandra Bullock tries to carry the load in pretty pedestrian story of self-denying alcoholic obtained to rehabilitation. This one does not really know where it really wants to go – the childhood flashbacks explaining Sandra’s difficulties are congratulations, however they are much too short. The characters in this film are excellent. Sandra Bullock performs Gwen to excellence. Steve Buscemi is incredible as always, Dominic West as fun-boy Jasper is perfect, and look for a ridiculously intriguing performance by Alan Tudyk as Gerhardt, the funniest persona in the film. General, this movie is recommended to those who like Sandra Bullok and the light comedies she generally performs in.

Miss Congeniality (2000)

Watch Trailer

Ok, we currently seen thousands of times the storyline of a unattractive woman becoming a lovely one. With Sandra Bullock in the film, it was at least funny. This is actually the kind of character that she loves to play. She’s not afraid of looking ridiculous, unlike many stars. Sandra Bullock gets most of the attention – and why not, she is great here – but lovers of Benjamin Bratt, Michael Caine, William Shatner and also Candace Bergen will also have lots of reasons to enjoy this movie. In short, Miss Congeniality is a film absolutely worth watching and one to seriously consider adding to your movie collection.

But then she falls for his brother, whilst the brother seems quite aggressive to her.

An excellent romantic comedy that’s so real and well-made that it’s near impossible to say anything negative about it. It’s not a best film, but it is a really likeable film that delivers what it promises. Sweet, hilarious, and also heartwarming romantic comedy.

Speed (1994)

Watch Trailer

This is one of those rare action films that will far surpass your expectations. You’ll be on the edge of your seat a lot since the suspense build up is done that well. Do not let simple fact fool you that nearly the entire film happens on a bus, the suspense always has something different up it’s sleeve that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sandra Bullock was great too, she genuinely succeeded in transmitting the spontaneity of her persona, a female who literally speaks her mind. It is some of those films that you can watch to the finish and hit play again instantly to rewatch.

Crash (2004)

Watch Trailer

These are the first lines spoken by Police Detective, Graham Waters in Paul Haggis’ Academy Award winning movie, “Crash”. In the movie we watch exactly how in a 36 hour time period, Investigator Waters and more than a dozen diverse characters of different race, culture and economic class cross paths and both literally and mentally ‘Crash’ into one another. The film is R-rated, and it deserves to be. Vocabulary is pretty harsh, and the themes are harsher. It needs to be seen by thinking grown ups, since it has the power to make you evaluate yourself, to turn the spotlight on your own perceptions. It is also so well-written and behaved that I really hope it gets remembered come Oscar time.

Every character in this well-crafted script eventually confronts every other character in ways that are at times coincidental, at times, tangential, and at other times the direct result of prior confrontations. The movie really puts racial issues in your face, making you take a hard look at them and yourself. it is a movie best watched with others, because the minute it gets over you will need to discuss what you have just seen.

The Blind Side (2009)

Watch Trailer

“The Blind Side” is the great heartwarming true tale of a unhappy homeless kid that moves to the home of a Caucasion Christian family that follows the principles of their religion helping others. The script is magnificent and the top-notch overall performance of Sandra Bullock is assisted by the powerful and smarter character Leigh Anne and the spectacular chemistry with Tim McGraw. Being a Sandra Bullock buff, I was already expecting a really great performance. And seeing her win the Academy Award for best actress, I understood she did a great job in the film. This is truly a heartfelt and impressive film with not just a stellar overall performance by Sandra Bullock, who is really deserving of her Oscar, but also amazing performances by the rest of the primary cast. I would recommend this movie for young adults.
