Best Animated Disney Movies

Fantasia (1940)

Directed By: James Algar

Starring: Leopold Stokowski and Deems Taylor

Genre: Animation – Family – Fantasy

Runtime: 2 hours 5 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Fantasia/2000 (1999), Peter Pan (1953).

Watch Trailer

A wonderful movie filled with fantasy and magic also wonderful mixture of magnificent animation and music. This is a movie which was mind-blowing for 1940. As I mentioned, no other film was like it. It’s special, imaginative, and the best part, it’s enjoyable to watch. Almost all of the stories with classical music are absolutely gorgeous and completely magical, and that’s why I like this movie. The animation is so gorgeous. Especially the part where the snow fairies are skating on the ice. Fantasia is a walk through an art gallery and a symphony hall, music creates pictures in most of us, whether or not they be memories of some thing before, or something conjured up from the sound. I suggest this to anybody who values classical music and likes Disney.

Pinocchio (1940)

Directed By: Ben Sharpsteen , Hamilton Luske

Starring: Dickie Jones, Christian Rub and Mel Blanc

Genre: Animation – Adventure – Drama

Runtime: 1 hour 28 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Fantasia (1940), A Christmas Carol (2009).

Watch Trailer

Pinocchio, winner of 2 Academy Awards, is an excellent animated film, its heartwarming with wonderful music and a adorable cast of characters. Pinocchio is not a child. he is a man-made creation by a poor puppet-maker known as Gepetto who wants his own child. The one thing that’s not on Gepetto’s mind is money. General, this really is a good movie for anyone, but specifically for individuals who have ever been through the struggle of being a real child.

Bambi (1942)

Directed By: David Hand

Starring: Hardy Albright, Peter Behn

Genre: Animation – Drama

Runtime: 1 hour 10 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Tarzan (1999), The Land Before Time (1988).

Watch Trailer

A lot of people today recognize the character Bambi, but did you know that he was created to be the Prince of the woodland and that his dad, who was smarter and over the age of the rest of the deer was the forest king. When Bambi’s mom is out of the picture, Bambi’s kingly dad steps in to raise the prince, this is also the only real movie I know of where a main ‘good’ character “the mother” is actually killed, although her death isn’t noticed. An additional lesson is about love. Right here we have mom and kid. This is the way a great family should work. There is no doubt in my mind that “Bambi” deserves its status as one of the true classics of animation. In case you do not care for the tale, the artwork is simply gorgeous to watch. I adored the soundtrack as well.

The Little Mermaid (1989)

Directed By: Ron Clements, John Musker

Starring: Jodi Benson, Samuel E. Wright and Rene Auberjonois

Genre: Family – Animation – Adventure

Runtime: 1 hour 25 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Beauty and the Beast (1991), Cinderella (1950).

Watch Trailer

The movie by itself is rich and alive. the character types are all given wonderful details which make them feel a lot more alive. The Little Mermaid not just saw the return of the great studio as a main driving force in cinematic creativity but also revitalized the art of animation itself. The music numbers are fantastic. “Kiss the Girl” as well as “Poor Unfortunate Souls” are most likely the best of them. The movie is probably not as simple as the very first Disney works. It makes this film more accessible and exciting for individuals of all age groups, although it of course would be the children that will enjoy this movie still the most. I recomend this excellent picture.

Up (2009)

Directed By: Pete Docter, Bob Peterson

Starring: Edward Asner, Jordan Nagai and John Ratzenberger

Genre: Comedy – Animation – Adventure

Runtime: 1 hour 37 minutes

Studio: Disney/Pixar

Similar Movies: Toy Story (1995), Shrek (2001).

Watch Trailer

Walt Disney once said that he wanted to create movies for all age grups, not just for children. The story gets a bit more complicated as he discovers an unexpected stowaway and new close friends. The start of the film was a little more darkish than I was expecting it be, however it setup other story so nicely. The story is enjoyable. You actually speculate sometimes why children movies don’t win oscars for best picture after watching a movie such as this. There is nothing bad that I should say relating to this movie. The subject of this movie is suitable for all age groups; it’s a great idea to teach both kids and adults that no matter how old they are.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Directed By: William Cottrell

Starring: Adriana Caselotti, Harry Stockwell and Lucille La Verne

Genre: Family – Animation – Fantasy

Runtime: 1 hour 23 minutes

Similar Movies: Beauty and the Beast (1991), Cinderella (1950).

Watch Trailer

”Snow White” was the first significant and popular movie from Disney, as well as the first of Disney’s princesses. The characters from this movie continue to be one of the better and most remarkable ones out of all Disney movies. Not only Snow White herself but additionally the 7 dwarfs, who also help to make the movie mostly enjoyable to watch. It is a wonderful movie, one of the better ones the studio has created.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Directed By: Lee Unkrich

Starring: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack

Genre: Comedy – Animation – Adventure

Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes

Studio: Disney/Pixar

Similar Movies: Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999).

Watch Trailer

The point of this film is based on exactly how Andy has gotten old and how the toys suffer from that change. Change is not some thing simple to deal with, and the great human imagery pictured within the characters made it much more real. Nobody actually thinks about the toys once they give them away or throw them out, and with this we observe how they’re affected, based on how we think they are at least. The way the storyline sets out superbly, and also the characters still manage to be adorable. I would recommend viewing this movie with somebody you care about so you can value it is awesomeness with each other.

Beauty and the Beast (1991)

Directed By: Gary Trousdale

Starring: Paige O’Hara, Robby Benson

Genre: Animation – Family – Fantasy

Runtime: 1 hour 25 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Cinderella (1950).

Watch Trailer

Beauty and the Beast is a brilliant movie. The emotional power is huge, the character types are unforgettable and the writing is fantastic. Belle is a lovely and kind young lady bored with her life in her smaller town. Her adorable dad falls in the handbags of the Beast who’s a real good looking prince under a spell, the beast was Completely scary enough to still be human being. Belle trades herself for her dad’s liberty. Disney truly provides the message of never judging anybody, simply in this tale, by which everybody can keep in their minds. The voice work is so completely matched with the way the characters are drawn it’s nearly possible to forget you are watching 2dimensional movie. So, while not the best movie in Disney history, it is still one not to be ignored!

Aladdin (1992)

It is all happened in a Abrian Nights terrain. Where it is targeted on a young lad called Aladin and his monkey Abu who spent their lives within the streets of the marketplace. Having to grab food to prevent themselves from getting hungry. Aladin wants he did not had to live in the poor life. I would recommend this to those who have a sense of humour and also to any person who enjoys Disney movies. I will say this: Everyone of any age group can watch this movie.

The Lion King (1994)

‘The Lion King’ is, undoubtedly, one of the best Disney movies of all time. It deals with love, trust, enjoyment and friendship in a manner that children understand. Simba is a younger lion cub, who lives on Pride Rock, and his dad is a King, Mufasa, who’s respectable and adored by all. This makes Simba a prince and next in line for the throne. Mefusa passes away while Simba escapes. Simba, however, believes he is liable for his dad’s death due to a chat with Scar. This is a must have for Disney-collectors which will do your actually growing collection happy. This really is someting you will enjoy watching over and over again through the years. I would certainly recommend it for individuals who are not familiar with the movie.

“The Chronicles of Narnia” is among those rare sets of stories that are important to kids, teenagers, as well as adults. The movie comes to life in most scene and one can really think that Narnia exists and you will get there some way. It’s so full of stunning scenery, smart dialogue and such awesome fantasy characters, the scenery was spectacular and the children were great actors. Each actor was connecting with kids and adults as well, from the innocent Lucy to the cold- hearted White Witch and fearless Aslan. You must see this.

As a puppy lover, i like this movie. The 6 Siberian Huskies and also the 2 Malamutes in this movie are so gorgeous I could look at them forever. Sure a movie is much more poignant when it’s correctly based on a true story, Eight Below is a story about bravery, bravery shown by animals to struggle for survival in 50 below zero. This movie was excellent, from Paul walker’s superb performance to the dog’s being so adorable and entertaining to watch this movie. Its fun for the entire family and everybody will love it and love to see it. I recommend this movie for anybody who likes dog movies. You may have to watch it a few times to memorize the dogs’ names.

Swiss Family Robinson (1960)

Directed By: Ken Annakin

Starring: John Mills, Dorothy McGuire

Genre: Family – Adventure

Runtime: 2 hours 7 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: The Incredible Journey (1963).

Watch Trailer

This is a Disney Movie, so nobody actually gets hurt in the scenes that if it were a Stallone movie, he would always be bleeding and shirtless while beating the enemy. The truth that the “bad guys” don’t get hurt but still lose can make this an excellent film for the family. The Swiss Family Robinson, on their way to a colony in New Guinea, end up caught on a storm-tossed ship, once the crew abandons them to escape pirates. A shipwreck simply leaves the family on a abandoned tropical isle. This is a excellent family night film that even probably the most jaded individual can get into.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006)

Directed By: Gore Verbinski

Starring: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom

Genre: Action – Fantasy – Adventure

Runtime: 2 hours 31 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Pirates of the Caribbean.

Watch Trailer

Dead Man’s Chest is fascinating, comical and absolutely awesome. It starts with the interruption of Will’s and Elizabeth’s wedding ceremony, where they’re sentenced to death for assisting in Jack’s escape in the previous movie. Will need to retrieve Jack’s compass in order to save himself and Elizabeth. Despite Walt Disney Pictures producing this fantastic movie, this movie is darker than the original and is therefore not ideal for babies and toddlers, rated PG for action-adventure violence. Most likely not a great one for the serious critics but excellent and well worth a night out at the movie theater. Comedy and action lovers will like that, this movie is part action and part comedy.

Escape to Witch Mountain (1975)

This is a great movie and it is the story of 2 children named Tony and Tia Malone who as the movie starts are being put in an orphanage as their foster mother and father just died. It is a great movie for parents to let their kids watch. Great clean enjoyable for everybody. This movie is worth watching again and again. Enjoy!

Directed By: Robert Stevenson

Starring: Dorothy McGuire, Fess Parker

Genre: Family – Drama – Adventure

Runtime: 1 hour 24 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: The Searchers (1956).

Watch Trailer

This is the complete classic “boy and his dog” film. Old Yeller is a lost dog that comes across a traditional western set family who’s father has going for money and items for his family members. Once they find Old Yeller, it’s like he’s taken the dad’s place, guarding family members every chance he got. A lot more than just a story about a boy and his dog, this can be a story about life and living. You’ll find nothing like a good family movie to restore old memories.

This is the Charles Dickens classic Christmas story made into a movie, full of Muppets. This really is among my Best Christmas Movies which can be loved throughout every season and not just on Christmas Day. Believe that the muppets are only for children? Completely wrong! There’s enough advanced humor embedded in this movie to give anybody fun, generally provided by its narrators, The Great Gonzo as well as his sidekick, Rizzo the Rat. Overall, this is a fantastic movie that kid and grownup should have in their collection.

Enchanted (2007)

Directed By: Kevin Lima

Starring: Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey

Genre: Comedy – Family – Fantasy

Runtime: 1 hour 48 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: Ella Enchanted (2004), The Little Mermaid (1989).

Watch Trailer

Enchanted is fun-filled family fun for kids of all ages. This story is Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast all rolled into one. The movie starts by having an animated set, which was as awful as I’d expect. The animation set was lacking in anything I loved about Disney. General, I recommend this movie to anyone who is a Disney lover, Enchanted is a light-hearted comedy that the whole family will love. It masterfully strings together humor and songs that leads to pure enjoyment.

Watch Trailer

The movie is really a memorable masterpiece which can be viewed often with enjoyment. The storyline of the movie involves Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins, a marvelous nanny who will become the governess of the Banks kids who’ve a stuffed shirt dad. The acting is completely outstanding! Julie Andrews won a Best Actress Academy Award for her portrayal of Mary Poppins. Every child in every single generation must all be too happy to see this. This is a classic treasure of a movie, plus a wonderful family fun movie. This one is, was, and always will be a classic.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Directed By: Gore Verbinski

Starring: Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush

Genre: Action – Adventure – Fantasy

Runtime: 2 hours 24 minutes

Studio: Walt Disney Pictures

Similar Movies: The Lord of the Rings.

Watch Trailer

Johnny Depp is really an acting legend of modern times. Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow could be the keystone of this movie however one can’t forget the other performances. The lovely, and I do mean beautiful, Keira Knightly performs an amazing Elizabeth Swann. And Geoffrey Rush plays a really nefarious, as well as evil Pirate in Captain Barbossa. The storyline follows the journeys of pirate Jack Sparrow because he tries to locate his ship, The Black Pearl. It’s a long movie but I would stay even more time for this movie, If somebody is concerned about the length of time they’re in the cinema, they’re not having fun. It’s absolutely best Disney movie of all time and also deserves every oscar. Overall, a very light- hearted film with a lot of plot twists and action to keep you fascinated.
